Xavier is a first-year PiNBAC trainee from Downey, California. He went to the University of Chicago, where he studied neuroscience, computer science and education inequity. During PiNBAC, he worked in the Fagiolini/Hensch Lab at BCH where he worked towards a therapy for Rett Syndrome, a rare form of autism. He is looking to study neuroscience to increase people’s quality of life and ability to learn. Outside of the lab he focuses on creating opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to learn more about the brain through comics, outreach or hands-on activities.
